Software Engineer (Java, OpenFGA)

TL;DR

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Rosslyn, VA (Hybrid: 2 days/week onsite)

What you will do

• Implement API endpoints and business logic for the OpenFGA wrapper service.
• Design and maintain backend microservices supporting enterprise AI operations.
• Develop and manage OpenFGA data models.
• Optimize APIs and event-driven architectures for scalable data flow.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and system reliability.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements and participate in code reviews.

Requirements

• Must have active Secret clearance to start.
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong background in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency with core AWS services.
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Django, NATS, Kafka, Redis, ClickHouse, or OpenTelemetry.
• Familiarity with OpenRouter and LiteLLM.
• Experience working in fast-paced, mission-focused environments.
