System Software Engineer (C++)

Location: Chelmsford, Massachusetts, United States; work arrangements may include a mix of in-office and remote work depending on the role and business needs.

Base salary: $105,593.46–$142,861.74 USD annually, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Develop next-generation controls software for vacuum system platforms and components.
• Verify software designs and test software quality across deployed vacuum systems.
• Automate configuration, calibration, testing, data collection, and data analysis.
• Support manufacturing operations and develop, maintain, and release process documentation.
• Tune motion control systems and characterize servo performance, stability, and payload vibration.
• Collaborate with software and hardware engineers on product extensions and improvements to system throughput and performance.

Requirements

• BSEE, BSCS, or equivalent with at least 5 years of experience, or MSEE, MSCS, or equivalent with at least 3 years of experience.
• At least 2 years of professional C++ or C# programming experience.
• Experience with electromechanical systems, controls, dynamic systems, or robotics.
• Ability to learn complex systems quickly, work independently, troubleshoot issues, and solve technical problems.
• Strong technical communication and presentation skills.
• Employment eligibility in the United States is verified through E-Verify.

Nice to have

• Experience with EtherCAT, gRPC, Python, PLCs, or RTOS.
