Distribution Designer

Location: Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; New Orleans, Louisiana; or The Woodlands, Texas

Salary: $28–$38 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.

What you will do

• Update GIS software to reflect current field conditions and verify maps and record drawings against field survey data.
• Design and process construction work requests for overhead electric distribution systems using client guidelines, utility standards, and established procedures.
• Prepare computer-aided designs, construction drawings, distribution circuit designs, pole-boring documentation, cost estimates, and project reports.
• Track design activities in the project management system and maintain proficiency through regular training.
• Meet with client engineers to define project scope and document pre-construction, pre-engineering, and pre-design discussions.
• Support storm restoration activities, including patrolling, extendo-stick work, and production leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering or technology, or experience in power distribution design or engineering.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact with clients on project design responsibilities.
• Flexibility, tolerance for change, and a questioning attitude.
• Ability to work from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; New Orleans, Louisiana; or The Woodlands, Texas.
