Systems Software Engineer (C++/C#)

Location: Chelmsford, MA, United States; hybrid work with a mix of in-office and remote arrangements depending on role and business needs

Base salary: $105,593.46–$142,861.74 USD per year, plus an annual discretionary bonus

What you will do

• Develop next-generation controls software for vacuum system platforms and components.
• Verify software designs and test quality across deployed vacuum systems.
• Automate configuration, calibration, testing, data collection, and analysis for vacuum components.
• Support Manufacturing and develop, maintain, and release process documentation.
• Tune motion-control systems and characterize servo performance, stability, and payload vibration.
• Collaborate with software and hardware engineers on new designs, product extensions, and throughput improvements.

Requirements

• BSEE, BSCS, or a similar degree with at least 5 years of experience, or MSEE, MSCS, or a similar degree with at least 3 years of experience.
• At least 2 years of programming experience with C++ or C#.
• Background in controls, dynamic systems, robotics, or related coursework, research, or experience.
• Ability to learn complex electromechanical systems quickly and work independently.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, technical communication, and presentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with electromechanical systems.
• Experience with EtherCAT, gRPC, Python, PLCs, or RTOS.
