Visiting Professor I (Microbiology)

Location: On-site on the Jacksonville, Florida campus; courses meet twice a week for eight-week sessions.

Compensation: $1,120–$7,245 per assignment, depending on education and experience.

What you will do

• Teach Fundamentals of Microbiology with Lab to undergraduate BSN nursing students.
• Develop and maintain an approved syllabus aligned with terminal course objectives.
• Prepare, organize, and regularly update lectures, laboratory exercises, and other course materials.
• Deliver three-hour lectures and three-hour laboratory sessions using appropriate educational technology.
• Set assessment expectations, prepare and grade examinations fairly, and provide timely feedback.
• Communicate effectively with students and support their learning in a diverse educational environment.

Requirements

• Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the subject taught for undergraduate instruction.
• Subject-matter expertise and outstanding oral and written communication skills.
• Strong motivational and instructional skills.
• Ability to work collegially and facilitate collaboration among diverse groups.
• Availability for on-campus teaching in Jacksonville, Florida, two days per week, Monday through Friday.
• Additional state licensing or accreditation requirements may apply.
