Focus on maintaining accreditation standards, coordinating clinical affiliations, assessing student learning, and strengthening the MLS program.

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas, United States; physical presence on the Corpus Christi campus required as needed

What you will do

  • Coordinate the Medical Laboratory Science program and maintain its quality, effectiveness, and compliance with NAACLS standards.
  • Teach undergraduate MLS lecture and laboratory courses in areas of expertise.
  • Lead curriculum development, student learning, program assessment, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate clinical education, affiliations, and experiential learning opportunities with healthcare organizations.
  • Support student mentoring, advising, recruitment, admissions, and progress monitoring.
  • Participate in College, University, professional service, committees, and community engagement activities.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in an appropriate field, such as science, Medical Laboratory Science, or business administration.
  • Current national certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, MLS(ASCP)CM.
  • At least three years of Medical Laboratory Science experience and demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Ability to meet NAACLS qualifications for program directors.
  • Ability to teach core MLS lecture and laboratory courses, with expertise in areas such as microbiology, hematology, immunohematology, or immunology/serology.
  • Ability to work physically on the Corpus Christi campus as needed.

Nice to have

  • Ph.D., Ed.D., DCLS, or another relevant doctoral degree.
  • Experience with NAACLS accreditation processes.
  • Experience with distance learning platforms, video conferencing, and innovative instructional technologies.
  • Experience teaching across multiple Medical Laboratory Science content areas.
  • Experience collaborating across disciplines and with healthcare organizations and community partners.
