BSN Instructor - Peds/OB Specialty - Per Diem

Location: Porterville, California, USA; campus-based

Salary: $55–$70 per hour, depending on experience

What you will do

• Provide nursing education in skills labs and clinical settings according to the established curriculum.
• Plan, supervise, and coordinate student clinical experiences at assigned healthcare facilities.
• Evaluate student performance against clinical learning outcomes and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain clinical and skills-lab attendance records, skills check-off forms, and program data.
• Submit required reports, attend faculty meetings, and participate in nursing program committees.
• Support student communication through office hours, electronic communication, and other appropriate methods.

Requirements

• Valid, unencumbered California Board of Registered Nursing license required.
• Eligibility for California BRN instructor approval in a relevant nursing specialty required.
• Master’s degree with coursework in nursing, education, or administration and academic preparation for the subject taught.
• BSN candidates currently enrolled in a Master’s program may be considered for a Clinical Teaching Assistant position.
• At least four years of registered nursing experience, including one year within the last five years, with direct patient care experience.
• Expertise in pediatrics, obstetrics or labor and delivery, mental health, medical-surgical nursing, geriatrics, community health, or critical care.

Nice to have

• One year of nursing-related teaching experience or completion of a nursing teaching course.
• Experience using online activities to enhance course content.
