Medical Assistant Instructor (Per-Diem)

Location: Phoenix, Arizona, USA; campus-based position

Salary: USD 27–34 per hour

What you will do

• Deliver hands-on academic and technological training in medical assisting.
• Prepare and conduct lesson plans that accommodate different abilities and learning styles.
• Teach course competencies and evaluate student performance through varied instructional methods.
• Provide ongoing academic advising, counseling, and mentoring to students, including those at risk of leaving the course.
• Identify student challenges, coordinate referrals to campus leadership or student services, and support student success.
• Participate in academic committees and collaborate with campus departments while following company and accreditation procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma; advanced education or a college degree is preferred, with equivalent experience considered.
• At least three years of hands-on clinical experience as a medical assistant.
• Current knowledge of medical assistant practice and the ability to mentor a diverse student population.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and comply with state, Department of Education, and accreditation regulations.

Nice to have

• Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program.
• Certified Medical Assistant credential such as RMA, CMA, or NRCMA.
• Experience with Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, or another learning management system.
