Senior Hardware Validation Engineer (Embedded Hardware)

Location: San Jose, CA, USA; onsite role with no remote work available

Annual pay range: $115,000–$150,000, plus bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Lead hardware validation planning and execution for embedded products, applications, and reference platforms.
• Drive technical hardware decisions and own execution from ideation through validation, qualification, and production readiness.
• Plan and execute prototype bring-up, bench testing, and product evaluation.
• Collaborate with systems, firmware/software, validation, and product engineering teams on hardware-software integration.
• Identify technical risks, provide feedback to product development teams, and improve platform robustness and usability.
• Contribute to reference designs, development platforms, technical documentation, and hardware validation best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Computer Engineering.
• 5–7 years of experience in embedded hardware and system design and validation.
• Experience with microcontrollers, power management, analog/mixed-signal products, SoC architecture, ARM cores, and low-power design.
• Experience validating high-speed interfaces including DDR, USB, PCIe, MIPI, and Ethernet, as well as SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN protocols.
• Knowledge of C/C++ or embedded programming, laboratory tools, validation frameworks, JTAG, Lauterbach, OpenOCD, JIRA, and Bugzilla.
• Hands-on experience with signal integrity, power integrity, schematic design, PCB layout, stack-up definition, decoupling, grounding, and production hardware delivery.
