Sr./Staff/Sr. Staff Power Integrity Hardware Engineer (PCIe/SSD)

Salary: $110,000–$175,000 per year

What you will do

• Provide signal and power integrity expertise for SSD controller packages, SoC substrates, and SSD PCB designs.
• Develop design guidelines, review designs, validate results, and prepare final technical reports.
• Define PCB stack-ups, HDI via technologies, component placement, and routing constraints.
• Coordinate with SoC, firmware, package, circuit design, and other cross-functional teams.
• Perform lab verification, simulation-to-measurement correlation, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
• Mentor engineers and communicate technical findings to design, product, and executive teams.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering and 3–8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with high-speed SSD board design, pre-layout and post-layout simulation, and design guides for PCIe Gen4/5/6, DDR4/5, LPDDR4/4x, NVIO, and PDN.
• Strong knowledge of electromagnetic simulation, transmission-line theory, single-ended and differential signaling, crosstalk, signal loss, and impedance control.
• Experience with Sigrity, Allegro, ADS, HFSS, SIWAVE, HSPICE, and EM field solvers.
• Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes, VNAs, and TDR equipment, including simulation and measurement correlation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Technical leadership experience and familiarity with PCIe eye diagrams, NRZ, PAM3, PAM4, and PAMx.
• Experience with high-frequency low-loss PCB materials and flex circuit design.
• Knowledge of PCIe and DRAM operation, driver and receiver equalization, IBIS, S-parameters, and system-level requirements.
• Experience optimizing and extracting PDN for PSIJ analysis.
• Familiarity with PCI-SIG, JEDEC, and ONFI specifications and compliance.
