Senior Building Systems Engineer (BMS/EPMS)

Location: Primarily remote, with periodic and sometimes frequent travel to hirify.global facilities, including Dallas, TX, for commissioning, system assessment, troubleshooting, upgrades, and team engagement.

What you will do

• Act as the senior technical authority for BMS and EPMS, resolving complex controls issues across the data center portfolio.
• Lead controls engineering for new builds and capital projects, from design and configuration through commissioning and turnover.
• Program and integrate systems across Niagara, Distech Controls, Automated Logic WebCTRL, DCIM, SCADA, fire/life safety, and access control platforms.
• Integrate controls with CRAC/CRAH units, UPS, PDUs, generators, chillers, cooling towers, switchgear, and related mechanical and electrical systems.
• Analyze system performance, alarms, and energy consumption to lead optimization, standardization, and technology roadmap initiatives.
• Mentor BSE staff, develop training programs and controls playbooks, and present technical findings to facilities leadership.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on building controls engineering experience focused on BMS and/or EPMS in mission-critical or data center environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, building automation, or a related field preferred; equivalent technical experience may be considered.
• Expert experience with Tridium/Niagara N4, Distech Controls, and/or Automated Logic WebCTRL; required platform certifications.
• Advanced knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, OPC-UA/DA, MQTT, controls programming, EPMS platforms, DCIM, and IT/OT integration.
• Strong understanding of HVAC controls, electrical distribution, and data center systems including CRAC/CRAH, chillers, cooling towers, UPS, PDUs, ATS, and generators.
• Must be able to travel to operational data center sites and support off-hours and on-call responsibilities.

Nice to have

• EPA 608 Universal, OSHA 30, LEED AP, Certified Energy Manager, or equivalent HVAC/electrical certifications.
• Experience with SCADA architectures and Schneider EcoStruxure, Eaton Brightlayer, or Vertiv Environet.
