Senior Protection & Control Engineer

What you will do

• Develop commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures for protection and control systems in high-voltage substations.
• Lead testing of protection relays, control systems, metering equipment, SCADA interfaces, communications systems, and substation control panels.
• Perform and supervise relay, end-to-end, functional, logic verification, point-to-point, and control system testing.
• Supervise, mentor, and provide technical direction to commissioning teams while maintaining safety, quality, and project requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, OEMs, engineering, construction, and client teams to meet project milestones, budgets, and technical requirements.
• Maintain commissioning documentation and ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, NERC, OSHA, and client standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of protection and control commissioning experience with high-voltage substations.
• Experience testing microprocessor-based protection relays, including SEL, Siemens, GE, ABB/Hitachi Energy, or equivalent platforms.
• Ability to interpret single-line diagrams, protection schematics, wiring diagrams, relay logic drawings, and test procedures.
• Knowledge of digital relays, substation automation, and transmission and distribution protection schemes.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
