Senior Electrical Engineer (Data Center)

Location: Remote within the United States; travel under 15%.

What you will do

• Develop electrical designs for large-scale data centers, including MV/LV distribution, UPS, standby generators, grounding, lighting, and monitoring systems.
• Perform load flow, short-circuit, and arc-flash studies using SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower.
• Review drawings, calculations, vendor documentation, and electrical system models for accuracy and compliance.
• Support BIM/VDC coordination, QA/QC reviews, and multidisciplinary design meetings.
• Provide construction-phase support by responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and supporting field activities.
• Provide technical input on assigned deliverables and support junior staff when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• At least 10 years of electrical engineering experience in utility, industrial, or mission-critical facilities such as data centers, BESS, substations, or power plants.
• Hands-on expertise in MV/LV power distribution, emergency and backup power, protective relaying, and redundancy strategies.
• Proficiency with SKM, ETAP, or similar system-analysis tools; familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and utility interconnection requirements.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; authorization to work in the United States required.

Nice to have

• Multi-state PE licensure.
• Additional certifications such as LEED AP or PMP.
