Level 3 DDC Controls Technician

What you will do

• Lead complex commercial DDC control projects from installation and programming through startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and closeout.
• Program and configure DDC controllers, supervisory devices, graphics, and peripheral equipment using Reliable, Niagara, Tridium, or equivalent platforms.
• Develop control logic and sequences supporting reliability, energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and correct equipment operation.
• Perform point-to-point checkout, functional testing, performance verification, inspections, and project documentation.
• Troubleshoot controllers, HVAC equipment, electrical systems, sensors, actuators, networks, communication protocols, and equipment interfaces.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, project managers, IT personnel, commissioning agents, manufacturers, and customers while guiding and mentoring junior technicians.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with DDC controls, building automation systems, HVAC controls, or a related field.
• Advanced programming experience with Reliable, Niagara, Tridium, or equivalent DDC/BAS platforms.
• Strong knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, BACnet MS/TP, BACnet/IP, Ethernet, and basic network troubleshooting.
• Experience with commercial HVAC systems including AHUs, RTUs, VAV systems, chillers, boilers, pumps, and cooling towers.
• Ability to read controls drawings, electrical schematics, mechanical plans, sequences of operation, and project specifications.
• Valid driver's license, ability to travel to project sites, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Nice to have

• Technical degree, trade certification, or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, controls, or a related field.
• Experience with system upgrades, retrofits, expansions, integrations, estimating support, or service projects.
