Data Engineer

Location: Toronto, Canada (remote)

Salary: $125,000–$170,000 per year, plus potential bonus and benefits

What you will do

• Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain multi-source ELT pipelines while optimizing costs and meeting data SLAs.
• Maintain and extend enterprise data warehouse infrastructure to improve performance and reduce manual work and incidents.
• Aggregate, combine, and curate campaign and event data with internal business systems.
• Collaborate with data platform, product engineering, analytics, and SRE teams to deliver reliable data products and services.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Hands-on experience with columnar or OLAP databases at petabyte scale.
• Experience operationalizing production data pipelines with monitoring, alerting, SLA dashboards, and runbooks.
• Expertise with ELT tools such as dbt, Airbyte, or Flink and orchestration platforms such as Airflow or Dagster.
• Strong programming experience with Python, Java, or SQL, plus Git, Agile development, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Technical understanding of Kimball and medallion data architectures.

Nice to have

• Experience with APIs, Reverse ETL, and data contracts.
• Significant AWS and AWS Managed Services experience, including Redshift, Aurora, Airflow, or Flink.
• Familiarity with Tableau or other data visualization tools.
• Experience managing data lakes with open-source formats such as Iceberg.
