Staff Engineer or Architect (Agentic AI)

Location: Vancouver office with a hybrid schedule of three days per week in the office, or remote within North America.

Salary: CA$175,000–CA$205,000 annually, plus equity and bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Design, build, and own agent systems from initial design through production for identity, fraud, risk, and commerce workflows.
• Develop reliable, steerable, multi-step agent workflows with tool use and human-in-the-loop patterns.
• Build evaluation harnesses and observability for production agent systems.
• Investigate non-deterministic failures across models, tools, orchestration, and infrastructure.
• Set and communicate technical direction while defining clear specifications for teammates and AI agents.
• Use AI and emerging technologies to improve productivity and optimize engineering workflows responsibly.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated impact on production systems.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, tool use, and at least one agent framework such as LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGen.
• Experience developing evaluation frameworks for agent behavior and production-grade multi-agent orchestration.
• Experience working in financial services, identity, fraud, risk, or another compliance-heavy environment.
• Ability to own features end-to-end, define ambiguous problems, and communicate trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with AI observability, MLOps, vector databases, knowledge graphs, or structured retrieval is required for the role's technical scope.
