Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: London, UK; hybrid policy requires staff to be in an Anthropic office at least 25% of the time. Frequent travel to customer sites is required, approximately 25–50%.

What you will do

• Embed with strategic customers and build production applications using Claude models within customer systems.
• Deliver production-ready technical artifacts, including MCP servers, sub-agents, and agent skills.
• Provide high-touch deployment support for Anthropic products in enterprise environments.
• Identify repeatable deployment patterns and share implementation insights with Product and Engineering.
• Build long-term customer relationships and identify opportunities for further AI adoption.
• Travel frequently to customer sites and represent Anthropic’s mission in the field.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in a technical, customer-facing role such as Forward Deployed Engineer or Software Engineer with consulting or product experience.
• Production experience with LLMs, including advanced prompt engineering, agent development, evaluation frameworks, and deployment at scale.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience shipping production applications; TypeScript, Java, or another additional language is beneficial.
• Ability to operate autonomously, navigate ambiguity, and collaborate across organizations.
• Strong communication skills for customer discovery and explaining technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or relevant professional experience.

Nice to have

• Background in financial services, healthcare, life sciences, or another enterprise vertical.
• Experience with enterprise IT systems or AI deployment patterns.
• Experience as a technical founder.
