Safety Specialist - Stack

Location: Elk Grove Village, Illinois, USA; travel up to 50% domestically and internationally

Salary: $70,000–$90,000 per year

What you will do

• Standardize HSE practices and drive continuous improvement across teams.
• Provide HSE support at refineries, chemical plants, power plants, testing facilities, and other customer locations.
• Conduct workplace inspections, written program audits, and compliance reviews against government, customer, company, state, and OSHA requirements.
• Investigate and document incidents, track corrective actions, and present safety and compliance solutions.
• Measure and report HSE KPIs and use HSE systems to improve performance.
• Create and deliver safety communications, toolbox talks, training modules, posters, newsletters, and meeting materials.

Requirements

• Degree in Safety, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
• 1–5 years of relevant safety work experience.
• General knowledge of federal and state OSHA requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related business software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; ability to work outdoors in industrial settings, climb ladders and elevated platforms, wear a respirator, and walk on uneven surfaces.

Nice to have

• Stack testing experience.
• Health or industrial hygiene experience.
• OSHA 30-hour training.
• Experience delivering hands-on training.
