Senior Safety Specialist (Utility Safety)

Location: Onsite in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, United States

Salary: $91,200–$125,400 per year, plus an annual bonus of 15% for eligible positions.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary health and safety resource for operations regions and divisions.
• Provide coaching, consultation, technical support, and safety plan guidance to local safety councils.
• Manage local safety and health issue resolution through analysis, benchmarking, risk management, and regulatory coordination.
• Lead safety culture change initiatives and coach leaders and employees.
• Maintain injury records, manage accident reporting, and determine event recordability while protecting confidential employee information.
• Perform incident analysis and root cause investigations for personal injury and motor vehicle accidents, including support during storms and energy delivery emergencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, or a related technical field, plus 4–7 years of experience in utility operations or EH&S; alternatively, 6–9 years of field experience in utility operations.
• Knowledge of applicable state and federal safety laws and regulations, including OSHA and DOT requirements.
• Knowledge of industrial hygiene principles, EH&S; regulations, scientific principles, and electric and gas distribution operations.
• Strong attention to detail, sense of urgency, self-motivation, and ability to initiate action and achieve results.
• Availability to work extended hours for storm coverage and other energy delivery emergencies.
