Senior Life Underwriter (Life Insurance)

Location: USA Remote

Base pay: $77,600–$106,700 per year, plus eligibility for a short-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Analyze life insurance applications submitted by financial representatives across sales regions.
• Assign risk classifications within corporate underwriting guidelines.
• Review medical, occupational, financial, avocational, and lifestyle information and request additional documentation when needed.
• Approve, modify, or decline applications and reinstatement requests for life, disability, and long-term care insurance.
• Advise financial representatives on application requirements, status, and ways to place applications in favorable risk classifications.
• Consult with leadership, medical directors, reinsurers, underwriters, and corporate personnel, and help develop competitive underwriting guidelines.

Requirements

• Typically 7+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
• Ability to evaluate complex personal, medical, occupational, financial, and lifestyle risk information.
• Professional, tactful, and empathetic communication with representatives, clients, medical personnel, and internal support teams.
• Ability to protect and maintain the privacy of client information.
• Must be eligible to work remotely in the USA.
