Sr. Actuarial Consultant (Life Insurance Valuation)

Location: Fully remote within any of the lower 48 U.S. states; the role is associated with Columbus, Ohio.

Salary: $118,000–$178,000 expected starting range; national range up to $222,000.

What you will do

• Apply actuarial expertise to life insurance valuation activities and product calculations.
• Support implementation and analysis of LDTI, PBR, statutory, GAAP, and tax valuation requirements.
• Prepare, analyze, explain, and report monthly and quarterly valuation results.
• Construct, maintain, and enhance actuarial, projection, valuation, testing, and financial reporting tools.
• Perform reserve, risk, reinsurance, pricing, product, and actuarial data analysis.
• Collaborate with Tax, Controllership, Pricing, auditors, regulators, leadership, and other business partners.

Requirements

• ASA designation required; active progress toward or recent attainment of FSA preferred.
• Typically four to seven years of actuarial experience.
• Knowledge of life insurance products, valuation principles, actuarial models, statistical analysis, software, and databases.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, VBA, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or similar analytical tools.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly, manage priorities independently, and collaborate across functions.
• Must be eligible to work from within the lower 48 U.S. states.

Nice to have

• Experience with statutory or GAAP life insurance valuation.
• Exposure to AXIS, ALFA, or PolySystems.
• Programming experience in Python or VB.NET.
• FSA progress or recent FSA attainment.
