Senior Systems Analyst – Logistics Automation & Platform Services (Logistics Automation)

Location: Northbrook, Illinois, United States. No travel required; the role supports distribution sites remotely, with participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation and occasional off-shift work during site downtime windows.

What you will do

• Maintain servers, operating systems, databases, middleware, integrations, and automation platforms supporting WCS/WES, WMS, ERP, sortation, conveyance, scanning, and print-and-apply systems.
• Triage incidents across IT, Operations Management, application teams, and external automation vendors, isolate fault domains, and drive issues through resolution.
• Manage vendor escalations, support relationships, SLAs, access governance, software lifecycle, upgrade planning, and readiness activities for new deployments and retrofits.
• Build monitoring dashboards and alerting for throughput, subsystem availability, controller heartbeats, fault rates, scan performance, and print-and-apply failures using tools such as LogicMonitor, Splunk, and AppDynamics.
• Prepare development, test, and production environments, maintain secure server configurations, and coordinate patching, certificates, access control, and infrastructure changes.
• Develop scripts, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD patterns with PowerShell, Python, Bash, Ansible, or Terraform; apply approved AI capabilities to improve observability and incident response.

Requirements

• Production experience supporting enterprise Windows and/or Linux systems and application platforms with significant uptime requirements.
• Strong troubleshooting, fault isolation, root-cause analysis, and incident coordination skills across integrated systems and multiple support teams.
• Experience managing external technology vendors, including escalations, support contracts, SLA accountability, and resolution of issues outside direct control.
• Hands-on scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, or Bash, plus experience operating monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and log-analysis solutions.
• Experience in logistics, distribution, manufacturing, or another operations-driven environment where system downtime has immediate business impact.
• Availability for a 24/7 on-call rotation, peak-season support, and occasional work aligned with site downtime windows.

Nice to have

• Experience with warehouse automation or MHE systems, including WCS/WES, sortation, conveyance, print-and-apply, AS/RS, or robotics.
• Knowledge of PLC concepts, industrial networking, device-level protocols, controls operations, WMS platforms, and host-to-automation integrations.
• Experience with LogicMonitor, Splunk, AppDynamics, SolarWinds, Ansible, Terraform, Azure, hybrid infrastructure, or cloud transitions.
• Security-minded administration experience, especially third-party remote-access governance.
