Senior Space Electronics Systems Engineer

Location: Centennial, Colorado, USA; hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote, depending on the program cycle

Salary: $130,000–$180,000 per year, depending on qualifications

What you will do

• Define and validate architectures for avionics, payload electronics, power-distribution units, and environmental control systems.
• Produce system specifications, block diagrams, interface control documents, test plans, and operational documentation.
• Evaluate commercial and radiation-hardened components against mission requirements.
• Oversee prototype builds, assembly, and production-grade manufacturing.
• Design and execute electrical, functional, EMI/EMC, vibration, and thermal-vacuum validation activities; analyze results and drive verification.
• Coordinate cross-functional integration, resolve interface issues, mentor engineers, and represent SEAKR during unit sell-off and delivery.

Requirements

• US citizenship required.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of space-industry systems engineering experience, or 4+ years in a senior or lead role.
• Deep knowledge of digital, analog, mixed-signal, and high-speed electronics design, plus proficiency with requirements management environment tools.
• Experience with radiation testing, including TID and SEE, mitigation techniques, and firmware/software integration for embedded microcontrollers or FPGAs.
• Strong experience designing and executing electrical, EMI/EMC, thermal-vacuum, vibration, and functional test plans, with leadership and mentoring abilities.

Nice to have

• RF processing system architecture and testing experience.
• Experience with space-qualified microprocessors or FPGA families.
• Knowledge of power calculations throughout the space-system design cycle.
• Experience with NASA SP-3008, ECSS-E-ST-20C, MIL-STD-1553, SpaceWire, or similar space-qualification standards.
