TL;DR
Senior Systems Engineer (Aerospace): Leading requirements engineering, systems integration, V&V, MBSE, technical planning, and risk management for complex ISR and aviation systems with an accent on architecture development, lifecycle management, and major project deliverables. Focus on integrating multidisciplinary system architectures, conducting high-impact trade studies, managing technical performance, and guiding engineering teams through complex development programs.

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado; hybrid environment with occasional travel. U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain the required U.S. security clearance.

Estimated starting salary: $143,487.14–$197,294.82 per year, plus annual incentive pay based on performance.

What you will do

  • Lead requirements engineering, systems integration, verification and validation, and model-based systems engineering activities.
  • Oversee system and decision analysis, technical planning, technical risk management, and lifecycle management.
  • Develop system architectures and designs while monitoring technical performance and project execution.
  • Manage major project deliverables and maintain alignment with organizational goals.
  • Provide technical leadership, communicate across multidisciplinary teams, and mentor systems engineers.
  • Support complex ISR and aviation system development, including mission-system integration and technical trade studies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; an advanced relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, with proven systems engineering leadership.
  • Expert proficiency with systems modeling and simulation tools and a thorough understanding of requirements derivation, allocation, systems design, integration, technical risk, and V&V.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary design and development teams and knowledge of multiple engineering principles and practices.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or Top Secret U.S. security clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required for employment.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods and perform system modeling and documentation tasks.

Nice to have

  • Experience with DOORS, Cameo, MATLAB, real-time operating systems, and embedded systems.
  • INCOSE or CSEP certification and knowledge of MBSE and mechanical design principles.
  • Aerospace and defense industry experience, including baseline maturation and high-impact trade studies.
  • Experience tracking Technical Performance Measurements, Agile methodologies, or Scrum Master certification.
  • Experience with BLOS datalinks, SATCOM, Hybrid SATCOM, waveform behavior, link routing, latency, and mixed aircraft mission-system architectures.
