Project Engineering Manager (Food Manufacturing)

Location: Sacramento, California, United States; willingness to travel 50–70% to plants in the US and Canada is required.

Salary: $105,100–$147,100 annually

What you will do

• Develop and execute capital projects for baking and packaging operations.
• Create project plans, budgets, capital requests, and detailed equipment specifications.
• Manage proposals, vendor selection, construction activities, change control, installation, troubleshooting, and training.
• Deliver projects on time and within budget while meeting design criteria and protecting product quality.
• Support root-cause analysis, equipment performance improvements, troubleshooting, and process optimization at plants.
• Develop capacity plans and recommend solutions for production shortfalls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 5–7 years of engineering experience, including management of large projects with assets exceeding $1 million.
• Experience improving existing equipment performance and managing multiple projects within schedule and budget.
• Experience creating, reading, and understanding AutoCAD drawings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Project and strong written, verbal, negotiation, and influencing skills.
• Ability to travel 50–70% and travel to plants in the US and Canada as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience in the food, pharmaceutical, or consumer goods industries.
• Controls systems experience with PLCs, drives, VFDs, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell, or similar systems.
