TL;DR
Senior Resource Geologist (Mining): Developing and validating geological and block models and preparing mineral resource estimates for precious metal, base metal, and aggregate mining projects with an accent on geological data evaluation, QA/QC, and industry-standard technical reporting. Focus on resource model reconciliation, collaboration with geology and engineering teams, technical leadership, and mentoring junior geologists.

Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada; preference for candidates based in or willing to work from Reno, Nevada, with qualified applicants in Vancouver, BC and Saskatoon, SK encouraged to apply. The position requires operating a company or personal vehicle for business-related travel.

Salary: $125,000–$155,000 per year, depending on experience and expertise.

What you will do

  • Develop and validate geological and block models for precious metal, base metal, and aggregate mining projects.
  • Prepare mineral resource estimates and technical reports in accordance with NI 43-101 and SK-1300 standards.
  • Evaluate geological, drilling, sampling, and assay data and perform QA/QC reviews and model reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with geology, mine planning, operations, and engineering teams to deliver fit-for-purpose resource models.
  • Provide technical leadership on consulting projects and support business development, client relationships, industry events, recruiting, and team development.
  • Mentor junior geologists and contribute to continuous improvement of resource estimation practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in geology, geostatistics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of total geology experience, including 5–7 years of hands-on resource modelling and domain estimation experience.
  • 3–5 years of mine geology experience in an operating environment.
  • Professional designation such as P.G., P.Geo. in Canada, and/or CPG.
  • Strong experience in resource estimation, block modelling, and geological interpretation.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, with the ability to operate a vehicle for business-related travel.

Nice to have

  • Advanced proficiency in Surpac, MinePlan, Leapfrog, or similar 3D modelling software.
  • Advanced degree or a strong portfolio of modelling and estimation experience.
