Senior Geologist - Land

Location: Commerce, California, United States; hybrid work with field and office duties

Base salary: $120,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead and execute medium-sized projects from technical and commercial perspectives.
• Design, implement, and supervise field exploration programs and detailed site characterization studies.
• Prepare technical reports and review reports and proposals for accuracy and quality.
• Assign work to project teams, monitor progress, answer technical questions, and supervise junior staff.
• Ensure client commitments are met regarding quality, schedule, and budget.
• Support major project pursuits and present technical information to clients and staff.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or geology from an accredited university; a master’s degree is highly preferred.
• California Professional Geologist (PG) license required. Certified Engineering Geologist (C.E.G.) license is preferred.
• At least 7 years of experience in geology, field investigation, and project management.
• Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering, geology, engineering geology, project technical requirements, and field data acquisition procedures.
• Valid driver’s license, acceptable motor vehicle record, and a valid passport with the ability to travel extensively domestically and internationally.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering or geology.
• Certified Engineering Geologist (C.E.G.) license.
