Automotive General Service Technician / Mechanic

Salary: Up to $17 per hour

What you will do

• Perform oil changes, tire rotations, battery replacements, suspension alignments, and other maintenance and repair services.
• Complete state-mandated vehicle emissions and safety inspections.
• Troubleshoot vehicle concerns and communicate damage or malfunctions to the service department.
• Complete accurate courtesy vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance reports.
• Follow hazardous-waste, OSHA, safety, cleanliness, and organization requirements.
• Assist with housekeeping and maintain an efficient work pace in a high-volume service environment.

Requirements

• Current driver's license.
• Entry-level position; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift or move more than 50 pounds occasionally and work with tools on elevated vehicles and in tight spaces.
• Manual dexterity, ability to stand or walk for most of the workday, and ability to drive manual-transmission vehicles.
• Ability to use a computer and work at a brisk pace in a high-volume environment.
