Maintenance Assistant

Location: Bridgewater, New Jersey, USA; onsite

What you will do

• Perform routine, preventive, and general maintenance throughout the community, including light electrical work, painting, and carpentry.
• Respond to maintenance requests from residents and staff, completing repairs or escalating resource needs to the supervisor.
• Monitor buildings, grounds, equipment, and apartments to maintain safe, clean, and comfortable conditions.
• Install and service equipment and prepare apartments for resident move-ins.
• Handle and document chemicals and equipment properly, including maintaining SDS logs in accordance with OSHA requirements.
• Support emergency preparedness, monthly drills, and resident evacuation procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of hands-on maintenance or related experience.
• Knowledge of maintenance and housekeeping practices, procedures, and applicable community regulations.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Windows, Outlook, and Excel, with the ability to learn new applications.
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, reach, and perform other physical duties, including lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.
