Data Scientist – Technology and Enterprise Operations First Line Risk

Location: Buffalo, New York, United States. Hybrid schedule with four days onsite at Seneca One Buffalo and one day working from home.

Salary: $123,600–$206,000 annual, USD.

What you will do

• Develop analytics, reporting, dashboards, and data visualization solutions for business and risk management decisions.
• Establish standards for metric validation, data visualization, reporting, process automation, and BI adoption.
• Query, structure, transform, and model data for analytics, dashboards, validation, and automation using SQL, Python, and related tools.
• Apply descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analytics to identify trends, outliers, and actionable insights.
• Use Microsoft Copilot, Power BI Copilot, Power Automate, and Python to automate reporting and improve data quality.
• Maintain risk controls, address audit and regulatory issues, and escalate risk-related findings to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience including 7 years of related experience.
• At least 1 year of managerial, supervisory, or work leadership experience.
• Experience with at least one data visualization tool and with designing advanced dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
• Expert knowledge of data visualization approaches and experience with data storytelling.
• Experience using SQL to analyze, extract, and transform data.
• Ability to work four days onsite in Buffalo, New York, with one day per week from home.

Nice to have

• Experience with multiple data visualization tools and driving business value through visualizations.
• Knowledge of data management concepts and terminology.
• Experience with data quality assurance, KRI and metric validation, model validation, data lineage analysis, and control effectiveness testing.
• Experience using emerging AI technologies and automation tools to improve reporting and operational efficiency.
