Senior Manager, Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Hybrid, requiring 2–3 days per week onsite. Available locations include New York City, Collegeville, Cambridge, Groton, Europe at any hirify.global site, and Montreal. U.S. positions require permanent U.S. work authorization.

Annual base salary: $124,400–$207,400, plus a 17.5% bonus target and eligibility for a share-based long-term incentive program.

What you will do

• Lead the selection, design, validation, and evaluation of statistical, machine-learning, natural-language-processing, and AI-based methods for Medical Affairs.
• Design healthcare professional, customer, and cohort segmentation methodologies using healthcare and real-world data.
• Define model performance measures, validation methods, decision criteria, and evaluation frameworks for models and agentic workflows.
• Prepare, integrate, explore, and analyze complex structured and unstructured datasets from multiple sources.
• Partner with data, AI/ML engineering, architecture, and governance teams to operationalize reliable analytical pipelines and workflows.
• Lead analytical workstreams, communicate findings and trade-offs, and mentor data scientists and analytical colleagues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline and 6+ years of relevant experience; an advanced degree may substitute for part of the experience requirement.
• Experience applying data science in healthcare, pharmaceutical, life-sciences, or another regulated environment.
• Hands-on experience with statistical, machine-learning, natural-language-processing, or AI-based solutions.
• Proficiency with Python or R and SQL, plus modern data-science libraries and analytical development environments.
• Experience with healthcare or pharmaceutical data, model validation, evaluation frameworks, documentation, privacy, governance, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Effective English verbal and written communication skills are required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or doctorate in a relevant quantitative field.
• Experience with large language models, generative AI, agentic systems, or AI-enabled workflow evaluation.
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, OMOP, HEDIS, or comparable healthcare data and analytics technologies.
• Experience operationalizing and monitoring models after deployment, mentoring data scientists, or providing technical leadership.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical medicine, clinical development, evidence generation, Medical Affairs, or Good Clinical Practice.
