Facilities Technician (Manufacturing)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; onsite in a manufacturing environment

Salary: $27.56–$29.52 per hour

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and servicing of facility infrastructure, including HVAC systems, ductwork, dust collectors, doors, lighting, and plumbing.
• Operate and maintain flocculation, wastewater, sewage treatment, liquid waste, steam boiler, and water treatment systems.
• Monitor computerized control systems and facility management software, report issues, and respond to emergent maintenance needs.
• Support machinery and equipment relocation, vendor coordination, fire extinguisher inspections, and disposal procedures.
• Operate Reach trucks, scissor lifts, and Genie booms; maintain a clean and safe work environment under 5S and ISO procedures.
• Train junior maintenance associates, support electricians and apprentices, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience with basic hand tools and minor electrical, plumbing, fire protection, utility, and general maintenance repairs.
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred; a minimum of two years is preferred.
• Experience operating Reach trucks, scissor lifts, and Genie booms, with a valid forklift license.
• Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout protocols, computerized maintenance management systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Proficient written and verbal English required. Must be able to work at heights up to 28 feet, lift up to 50 pounds, work around noise, dust, and heat, and work varied shifts, weekends, and overtime.
