Asset Maintenance Technician II (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States. Onsite first-shift role, Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. PT; the description also references a second-shift schedule of 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. PT. The role is structured around a 50-hour workweek with overtime.

Salary: $27.20–$40.80 USD per hour. Second-shift work includes a 10% differential.

What you will do

• Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on CNC machines, circumferential stir welders, EDM machines, ultrasonic tanks, and other manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system failures using schematics, technical documentation, and hands-on methods.
• Coordinate technician workflow, prioritize maintenance tasks, and align shift execution with production needs and equipment availability.
• Install, commission, maintain, and improve manufacturing equipment while supporting safety, quality, and operational standards.
• Track maintenance activity, equipment status, recurring issues, and work orders through CMMS or similar systems.
• Provide shift-level mentoring, troubleshooting guidance, escalation support, and real-time coaching to maintenance technicians.

Requirements

• 2–3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, equipment maintenance, or a related technical field.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, including PLCs, motors, sensors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and machine control systems.
• Experience maintaining or repairing CNC machines, automation systems, or complex manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating and supporting others during shift execution.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to escalate equipment, safety, workflow, and resource issues.
• Understanding of safety procedures, lockout/tagout, and manufacturing maintenance best practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with advanced automation systems, robotics, or highly integrated manufacturing equipment.
• Familiarity with CMMS software, work order management, vibration analysis, thermal imaging, predictive maintenance, or reliability-centered maintenance.
• Previous experience as a shift lead, team lead, senior technician, or informal technical mentor.
• Experience in aerospace, automotive, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
