Senior Staff Engineer, Test Director (UAS)

Salary: $171,680–$257,520 per year, plus bonus, benefits, and equity for regular employees

What you will do

• Direct system-level integration, verification, and flight test campaigns for Hivemind Mission Autonomy on unmanned aircraft systems and external platforms.
• Own test readiness decisions, entry and exit criteria, test strategy, phasing, and prioritization across lab, simulation, ground, and flight phases.
• Plan and execute fly–fix–fly campaigns with disciplined configuration control, safety practices, and rapid iteration.
• Lead cross-functional execution across engineering, safety, test operations, and program management.
• Define test infrastructure, performance metrics, success criteria, procedures, test cards, and automated test pipelines.
• Manage risk assessments, hazard analyses, reporting, anomaly resolution, corrective actions, and lessons learned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline such as aerospace, software, or computer engineering.
• 7+ years of system integration and test experience across SIL, HIL, simulation, and flight-test environments.
• Experience leading test execution and making readiness, conduct, and risk decisions.
• Ability to collaborate with systems engineering, software, hardware, safety, and program management teams.
• Strong organization, technical communication, briefing, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Commitment to integrity, accountability, high standards, and collaborative execution.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of DoD DT&E and OT&E processes and documentation.
• Experience with UAS, autonomy, robotics flight testing, or government flight-test ranges.
• Previous experience as a Test Director, Test Conductor, or Lead Flight Test Engineer.
• Experience with safety-of-flight processes, hazard analysis, and configuration control.
