TL;DR
Senior Specialist, Emergency Preparedness - Hazard Awareness Trainer (Emergency Management): Designing and optimizing emergency preparedness processes and hazard awareness training for utility emergency response plans, with an accent on first-responder training, emergency restoration, and cross-functional coordination. Focus on developing response procedures, leading change management and drills, maintaining emergency documentation and databases, and supporting incident response across transmission, electric distribution, and gas distribution systems.

Location: Southborough, Massachusetts, United States. Travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire is required, with availability for emergency restoration assignments outside normal responsibilities, hours, and location.

Annual salary: $114,870–$127,630, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Hazard Awareness Training program.
  • Train municipal fire, police, medical, and other public safety personnel on Eversource emergency response.
  • Develop strategies and processes for service restoration and communication during emergencies across transmission, electric distribution, and gas distribution systems.
  • Lead updates to the All Hazards Emergency Response Plan, Emergency Response Plans, and Business Continuity Management Plans.
  • Lead cross-functional process improvement, change management, training, drills, and exercises.
  • Maintain emergency preparedness databases, procedures, documentation, job aids, vehicles, and related technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, business, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of related experience in operations and emergency planning.
  • Strong project management, facilitation, presentation, process design, and documentation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of fire service and first-responder incident response operations, including NIMS and the Incident Command System.
  • Valid motor vehicle license required; CDL-A or the ability to obtain it within one year is strongly preferred.
  • Immigration-related visa sponsorship is not available; applicants requiring sponsorship to begin employment will not be considered.

Nice to have

  • Degree in Fire Science or Emergency Management, MS in Fire Science or Emergency Management, or MBA.
  • Fire and Emergency Services Instructor certification.
  • Project Management certification.
  • Five or more years of fire service experience or previous experience as a Fire Department Lieutenant or higher.
