RF Design Engineer III (Space Electronics)

Location: Centennial, Colorado, USA. Onsite role. US citizenship required.

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 per year, depending on qualifications, plus a potential year-end bonus.

What you will do

• Design front-end RF signal-chain circuits and assemblies for space vehicle communication and signal analysis systems.
• Develop low-phase-noise oscillators, distribution networks, RF digitizer circuits, and multi-GSPS ADC/DAC assemblies.
• Define technical requirements, perform system trade studies, participate in design reviews, and track delivery schedules.
• Support PCB layout and multidisciplinary design activities to meet RF performance requirements.
• Verify engineering models through laboratory measurements, worst-case analysis, troubleshooting, and RF hardware testing.
• Create engineering documentation, reports, and presentations, while mentoring less experienced RF engineers.

Requirements

• BSEE or an equivalent university degree.
• Understanding of RF circuit theory, transmission lines, coupling, oscillators, clock circuits, and RF signal characterization.
• Experience designing RF receiver and transmitter circuits, low-phase-noise oscillator and distribution circuits, RF circuit boards, and transmission lines.
• Experience with schematic capture and commercial EDA tools such as Cadence, AWR Microwave Office, or Keysight ADS.
• Experience with 3D electromagnetic modeling using tools such as Ansys SIwave or HFSS.
• Experience using multi-GHz VNAs, spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers and sources, or phase-noise analyzers. US citizenship is required.

Nice to have

• Understanding of sampling and signal processing in digital RF systems.
• Experience with Siemens Xpedition tools.
