AM Training Specialist (Additive Manufacturing)

Location: Long Beach or Torrance, California, United States; onsite manufacturing facility

Salary: $36.09–$66.22 per hour, depending on Specialist level S02–S04

What you will do

• Develop, refine, standardize, and implement process instructions for additive manufacturing and auxiliary equipment.
• Conduct machine-performance audits, inspections, surveillances, and training-effectiveness checks.
• Partner with production, quality, safety, AM service, and machine shop teams to resolve process issues.
• Drive continuous improvement through A3/8D problem solving, waste elimination, kaizen, and Lean methods.
• Develop and maintain role-specific training, certifications, training records, and competency assessments.
• Coach employees and frontline leaders, identify skill gaps, and improve standard work and training delivery.

Requirements

• Must be able to lawfully access information and technology subject to US export controls and be eligible to work in the United States.
• Understanding of product lifecycle management from NPI through scaled production, Lean manufacturing, and change management.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, work instructions, building plans, equipment specifications, and electrical schematics.
• Experience troubleshooting manufacturing processes and equipment and supporting process development in dynamic production environments.
• Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma principles.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, verbal and written communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• 2+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in additive manufacturing.
• Experience training, coaching, or providing technical guidance in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience building cross-functional relationships and troubleshooting systems autonomously under pressure.
