Service Technician (Industrial Manufacturing)

Location: Monroe, Michigan, United States; on-site. Travel to customer installations is required, mainly across North America, for up to 75% of the time, with training travel to Austria.

hirify.global is partnering with a leading manufacturer of underwater pelletizers to support its growing service team.

What you will do

• Conduct lab trials and process tests for underwater pelletizers, vibration dryers, air pelletizers, and related equipment.
• Prepare, monitor, and document test runs, equipment performance, throughput, pellet quality, temperature, and energy data.
• Set up, calibrate, start up, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair pelletizing systems, dryers, screen changers, and related equipment.
• Perform remote diagnostics and coordinate customer service calls, installations, upgrades, preventive maintenance, and training.
• Analyze process data, lead root cause analyses, and recommend corrective actions and process or design improvements.
• Prepare service documentation, manage spare parts logistics, maintain tools and work areas, and support customer relationships.

Requirements

• Associate degree, technical certification in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, or industrial maintenance, or equivalent experience with 3+ years in a related field.
• Hands-on experience with industrial machinery and manufacturing environments.
• Working knowledge of high-voltage, multi-phase electrical systems, 24V DC control circuits, mechanical components, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, multimeters, and precision measuring instruments, and to interpret schematics and equipment manuals.
• Understanding of industrial safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout, with the ability to work safely in noisy and hot environments and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license, valid or obtainable passport, strong communication skills, and willingness to travel extensively.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with PLC software and programmable controllers.
• CRM or service management software experience.
• Forklift or overhead crane experience.
• Previous industrial internship, co-op, apprenticeship, or hands-on project experience.
