Director, Connected Lifecycle Engineering (IoT)

Salary: $210,000–$240,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Set architecture standards for wireless connectivity, embedded displays, companion apps, cloud integration, provisioning, pairing, and authentication.
• Own global connected-device firmware delivery across connectivity, security, over-the-air updates, displays, and connected user experiences.
• Define supplier requirements, design reviews, integration gates, build reproducibility standards, and technical governance for ODM and JDM partners.
• Lead wireless certification and regulatory strategies covering Bluetooth SIG, Wi-Fi Alliance, Matter, and regional RF compliance.
• Build test automation, interoperability rigs, RF conformance testing, CI pipelines, static analysis, and firmware integration infrastructure.
• Lead a senior connected firmware organization and collaborate with Hardware, Cloud, Mobile App, UX/UI, Systems Engineering, and NPD teams.

Requirements

• 12+ years of embedded software and firmware engineering experience, including substantial wireless connectivity or connected-device architecture experience.
• 5+ years leading engineering organizations with direct management of senior engineers and managers.
• Experience architecting Bluetooth/BLE, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Thread, or Matter stacks and taking products through certification.
• Experience integrating embedded firmware with mobile companion apps and cloud services, including device provisioning, pairing, security, and OTA updates.
• Experience directing ODM/JDM partners and establishing CI/CD, static analysis, automated testing, and hardware-in-the-loop validation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline required; master’s degree preferred.
