Senior Director, Forward Deployed Engineering, Americas (AI)

Location: Redwood City, California, United States; travel to customer and hirify.global locations as required. Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship.

Salary: $250,000–$350,000 USD annually, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead and scale the Americas Forward Deployed Engineering organization, including multiple pods, 5–10 FDE Managers and senior technical leaders, and approximately 50–100 engineers.
• Own regional technical execution for production-quality enterprise AI applications built on the hirify.global Platform.
• Coach engineering managers and establish staffing, performance, succession-planning, and organizational-development practices.
• Set the regional operating model and maintain accountability for delivery health, technical risks, staffing, and customer outcomes.
• Serve as the senior technical escalation point for customers, engineers, architects, and executives.
• Partner with Industry Solution Leaders, Sales, Product, Platform, and Engineering on solution design, product feedback, prioritization, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or another technical discipline.
• 12+ years of professional software engineering or highly technical product development experience and 7+ years leading technical engineering organizations.
• Experience managing engineering managers or technical leaders and building customer-facing engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of full-stack development, distributed systems, data platforms, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise software architecture.
• Experience delivering complex enterprise software to production and evaluating architecture, technical tradeoffs, risk, security, scalability, and maintainability.
• U.S. work authorization without current or future company sponsorship is required; travel is required as needed.

Nice to have

• Forward-deployed, customer engineering, solutions engineering, or field engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, React, Angular, or Vue.
• Experience with AI/ML applications, enterprise data platforms, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, large-scale data processing, Git, CI/CD, automated testing, or observability.
• Experience supporting enterprise customers in manufacturing, energy, utilities, high-tech, life sciences, financial services, or government.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
