Senior Project Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Hybrid in Buffalo, New York, United States

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of specialized test equipment projects for military aircraft sustainment and production acceptance testing.
• Manage multiple projects across scope, schedule, cost, risks, resources, and technical requirements.
• Define requirements, statements of work, and proposal content for new test equipment programs.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams through design, build, qualification, and delivery.
• Collaborate with U.S. and international military customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Support issue resolution, root-cause investigations, quality initiatives, and compliance with safety, regulatory, customer, and contractual requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, systems engineering, or a related technical field.
• Seven or more years of experience leading technical engineering projects in aerospace, defense, automotive, test equipment, or a similar industry.
• Experience managing project scope, schedules, costs, technical deliverables, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Strong background in requirements management, system verification, and validation processes.
• Strong communication and leadership skills across technical disciplines and customer organizations.
• Ability to obtain U.S. and/or U.K. security clearance and access U.S. export-controlled information.

Nice to have

• Experience with aerospace hydraulic, electromechanical, or flight-control actuation systems.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and defense programs with international customers.
• Familiarity with Earned Value Management Systems.
• Experience developing technical proposals, supporting audits, and managing complex engineering programs.
