TL;DR
Staff Aircraft Systems Engineer (Aerospace): Designing, integrating, and verifying safety-critical autonomous electric aircraft systems with an accent on aircraft integration, certification compliance, and systems safety. Focus on developing optimized architectures, driving end-to-end integration across mass, power, regulatory compliance, and technical risks, and supporting flight testing and certification.

Location: Hybrid in Mountain View, California; onsite at the Mountain View office 3 days per week

Salary: $167,000–$208,000 per year

What you will do

  • Define and develop systems engineering artifacts supporting ARP4754A and ARP4761 compliance.
  • Review safety-critical system integration activities and apply systems engineering practices, lessons learned, and guidelines.
  • Lead trade studies for optimized safety-critical aircraft architectures that meet performance, size, weight, power, and safety requirements.
  • Own schedules and drive end-to-end aircraft integration activities across mass, power, regulatory compliance, preliminary risk assessments, and technical issues.
  • Support system development, validation, integration, testing, flight test, and aircraft certification.
  • Collaborate with SEIT leaders and multiple integrated product teams to develop effective execution strategies.

Requirements

  • B.S. in engineering with 12 years of experience, or M.S. in engineering with 8 years of experience in aircraft integration, systems engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with requirements decomposition, function development and allocation, and certification deliverables.
  • Expertise with ARP4754A, DO-160, ARP4761, Part 23/25 regulations, AC XX.1309, or similar standards.
  • Familiarity with DO-178C and DO-254.
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as Polarion, DOORS, Teamcenter Requirements Management, or Requiem.
  • Experience in aircraft system development, design, manufacturing, or flight testing, including complex aircraft systems, avionics, flight controls, or propulsion systems.
