Sr Due Diligence Design Engineer (Data Center)

Location: Livingston, NJ; New York, NY; Sunnyvale, CA; San Francisco, CA; or Bellevue, WA. Frequent travel to prospective data center locations is required.

Salary: $143,000–$210,000 base salary per year, plus potential bonus, equity awards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Evaluate prospective data center sites across electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, architectural, and IT/low-voltage disciplines.
• Assess power availability, utility constraints, redundancy options, water resources, cooling feasibility, building suitability, and expansion potential.
• Review provider proposals, capacity offers, utility data, conceptual layouts, as-built drawings, and early design documentation.
• Identify technical, land-use, zoning, permitting, entitlement, schedule, cost, and constructability risks.
• Prepare technical due diligence summaries, dashboards, feasibility assessments, and concise go/no-go recommendations.
• Coordinate with landlords, developers, data center providers, utilities, internal subject-matter experts, and Design Managers through lease execution or acquisition and handoff.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data center engineering, MEP consulting, site selection, due diligence, or early-phase design and development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Broad competency across electrical, mechanical, civil/structural, and architectural engineering fundamentals.
• Experience evaluating utility infrastructure, power delivery, substations, feeders, water sources, capacity offers, conceptual site plans, and building documentation.
• Strong technical writing, communication, presentation, collaboration, and independent engineering judgment.
• Ability and willingness to travel to prospective sites across the region; export-controlled information access requires applicable U.S. person status, authorization eligibility, or a reasonably obtainable export authorization.
