Senior Integrated Design Manager (Data Centers)

Location: PIT01, Pittsburgh, United States; the role may require travel of up to 25% and includes physical data center and construction-site duties.

Salary: $150,000–$210,000 annually plus bonus

What you will do

• Lead major data center projects from inception through customer or business turnover, with primary responsibility during preconstruction and design.
• Onboard and manage third-party design teams, design schedules, deliverables, review cycles, design gates, and project documentation.
• Coordinate architects, consultants, equipment providers, general contractors, construction managers, operations, sales, solutions engineering, and customers.
• Manage design variances, risk registers, cost-control and compliance matrices, project dashboards, budgets, funding requests, and leadership reporting.
• Review construction plans and customer requirements, communicate technical designs, and support successful fit-out, construction, integration, and turnover.
• Lead design management teams and potentially expand oversight across multiple projects, buildings, or regional campuses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• 9+ years of progressive experience managing commercial construction project design programs; data center experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with design engineering, design deliverables, design team management, construction management, and data center MEP systems.
• Advanced experience with Excel, Smartsheet, and/or AutoCAD; familiarity with project management software such as MS Project, Prolog, Procore, or BIM 360.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications, estimate costs, develop scopes of work, and forecast the impact of design and schedule changes.
• Strong communication, organizational, time-management, change-management, confidentiality, and multitasking skills.

Nice to have

• Exposure to IPD or design-build delivery models.
• Mechanical or electrical background.
• Experience working with CAD.
