What you will do

  • Define, own, and continuously improve electrical engineering standards, basis-of-design documentation, and technical specifications for data center development.
  • Lead electrical design reviews across feasibility, schematic design, construction documents, construction administration, commissioning, and energization.
  • Establish requirements for utility service, medium- and low-voltage distribution, UPS, STS, PDUs, busways, generators, ATS, and BESS.
  • Review external engineer-of-record designs for compliance with company standards, NEC, NFPA, and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Lead value engineering, equipment standardization, procurement support, contractor selection, and electrical construction coordination.
  • Build and mentor the internal electrical engineering team and present system strategies and capital recommendations to executives, customers, and investors.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience, including leadership on hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data center projects.
  • Experience serving as a technical owner or discipline lead on large capital projects and managing engineering staff or external consultants.
  • Deep knowledge of data center electrical distribution, medium-voltage systems, UPS, battery systems, transfer switches, diesel generators, and generator controls.
  • Experience with arc flash, short-circuit, load-flow, and power-quality studies, plus SCADA, EPMS, and BMS integration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Professional Engineer license is strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, including the ability to explain complex engineering decisions to executives and investors.

Nice to have

  • CDCDP, PMP, ATD, LEED AP, DCEP, or similar professional certification.
  • Experience with AI/HPC power distribution, 415V busway, direct 480V rack-level distribution, or 800VDC integration.
  • Participation in 7x24 Exchange, NFPA, IEEE, Uptime Institute, or similar industry organizations.

Culture & Benefits

  • Fast-moving, high-growth, hands-on environment focused on energy and next-generation compute infrastructure.
  • Cross-functional collaboration across engineering, commissioning, construction, procurement, utilities, and external partners.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits.
