TL;DR
Sales Consultant, Trauma (MedTech): Driving trauma orthopaedic product sales across the Austin territory by developing surgeon and account relationships, supporting surgical cases, and implementing territory-specific sales strategies with an accent on customer needs, product utilization, and account growth. Focus on converting new surgeons and accounts, educating operating-room personnel, managing inventory, and solving customer and competitive challenges.

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; residence in or ability to relocate to the posted territory required. The role requires work in laboratory and operating-room environments, travel including possible weekends and overnight stays, and a valid U.S.-issued driver's license.

What you will do

  • Develop and execute surgeon- and account-specific plans to qualify prospects, convert new business, and grow territory sales.
  • Present, demonstrate, and support the proper utilization of assigned trauma products.
  • Build relationships with surgeons, operating-room personnel, buyers, and hospital stakeholders.
  • Provide case coverage and support surgeons and operating-room personnel during surgical procedures.
  • Educate surgeons, operating-room staff, and central supply personnel through in-services and workshops.
  • Manage territory inventory and promotional materials while addressing competitive threats and strategic product priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of professional or related experience; or an associate degree/medical certification and at least 5 years of experience; or at least 8 years of related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license issued in the United States and ability to reside in or relocate to the Austin territory.
  • Ability to work in laboratory and operating-room environments and travel, including possible weekend or overnight travel.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, influencing, critical-thinking, problem-solving, prioritization, and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology and basic knowledge of surgery.
  • Ability to work independently, manage complex environments, analyze data, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.

Nice to have

  • Technical product knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, protocols, and solutions.
  • Experience in account management, market research, healthcare trends, solutions selling, and sales presentations.
