Assistant General Counsel, Litigation

Location: Hybrid position in Newark, Delaware; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Washington, Washington, DC; or Salisbury, Maryland. In-office attendance is required at least three days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Salary: $167,200.00–$229,900.00 per year, plus an annual bonus of 20% for eligible positions.

What you will do

• Provide legal services and strategic advice to hirify.global business units, primarily in Delaware, on complex tort and commercial matters.
• Represent hirify.global and Delmarva Power & Light in federal courts, Delaware courts, arbitrations, mediations, and other relevant forums.
• Direct outside counsel and manage large, complex litigation-related assignments and relationships.
• Conduct and supervise internal investigations across hirify.global business units.
• Prepare budgets and early matter assessments for matters involving outside counsel.
• Lead and provide direction to less experienced attorneys and support staff while identifying and mitigating legal risks.

Requirements

• LLB or JD from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdictions.
• At least 7–10 years of professional experience in a specialized area of law.
• Comprehensive knowledge of legal principles, practices, and procedures, with strong legal research and analytical abilities.
• Ongoing knowledge of applicable federal or state law and the ability to analyze legal materials and data under deadlines.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and orally and work effectively in stressful conditions.
• Knowledge of legal issues affecting electric and natural gas utilities; ability to adopt AI-enabled tools for research, drafting, and analysis while applying professional judgment.
