Senior/Principal Software Engineer (Python)

Location: Fully remote, but candidates must reside in one of the listed U.S. states and work from the contiguous United States. Salary: $153,000–$171,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Lead and coach engineering teams while supporting professional growth and collaboration.
• Define technical strategy, architecture, and long-term delivery roadmaps with clients and delivery teams.
• Align government stakeholders, vendors, executives, product teams, and engineers on technical initiatives.
• Make architectural decisions balancing program goals, delivery needs, technical debt, and maintainability.
• Oversee delivery risks, dependencies, estimates, priorities, and trade-offs.
• Establish engineering standards for code quality, testing, security, documentation, and technical risk management.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years managing engineers and leading technical delivery.
• Experience architecting and delivering scalable, maintainable, secure distributed systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and modern frameworks or equivalent technologies such as React and Node.js.
• Strong knowledge of system integration, data migration, and API or interface development.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing, and AWS or equivalent cloud environments.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States, with no current or future need for visa sponsorship; government background checks or security clearance may apply.
