Software Engineer/Sr Software Engineer (Python)

Location: Remote within the United States, or hybrid from the Hayward, California office with at least 3 in-office days per week. Remote employees must maintain core overlap with Pacific Time hours and attend periodic team onsites in Hayward.

Salary: $120,000–$170,000 per year, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Build and maintain Python services, REST APIs with FastAPI, batch jobs, and shared libraries.
• Implement features for claims, eligibility, and drug-pricing workflows.
• Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, reports, and stored procedures for MySQL databases.
• Participate in application design, code review, deployment, and production support.
• Collaborate across departments to align technical solutions with business goals.
• Use AI-assisted development tools while owning code correctness, testing, and review.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on Python development experience.
• BS or advanced degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong foundations in data structures, testing, version control with Git, relational databases, and SQL.
• Experience building Python RESTful APIs; FastAPI is preferred.
• Experience with Atlassian tools, Agile methodologies, and Linux environments.
• Current authorization to work full-time in the United States without employer sponsorship, visa transfer support, or other immigration assistance now or in the future.

Nice to have

• HIPAA/PHI or healthcare industry experience.
• AWS exposure.
• Experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, ChatGPT, or Cursor.
