Senior Manager, IM R&D Procurement Category (Analytical Development & Testing)

Location: Spring House, Pennsylvania; Titusville or Raritan, New Jersey; or Beerse, Belgium

Salary: $122,000–$212,750 base pay annually

What you will do

• Develop and execute global procurement strategies for analytical development, laboratory testing, and related scientific services.
• Lead sourcing initiatives, supplier assessments, competitive bidding, negotiations, supplier selection, and contracting.
• Build supplier strategies covering capabilities, capacity, quality, regulatory readiness, scalability, risk, and geographic coverage.
• Partner with R&D, CMC, Technical Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, IT, and other functions.
• Develop commercial models including rate cards, preferred-provider arrangements, bundled services, milestone-based agreements, and capacity reservations.
• Coach procurement professionals and communicate category priorities, supplier risks, market insights, and value opportunities to senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent university qualification.
• Fluent written and oral English.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, supply chain, pharmaceutical development, laboratory services, external manufacturing, or a related function.
• Experience developing category or sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, conducting negotiations, and establishing commercial arrangements.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, laboratory, scientific, technical, or other highly regulated environments.
• Ability to influence across regions and functions, lead projects, solve analytical problems, manage change, communicate with executives, and travel domestically and internationally.

Nice to have

• Experience with Analytical Development & Testing, CMC Product Development, laboratory services, Clinical Manufacturing, Technical Operations, or External Quality.
• Knowledge of analytical method development, validation and transfer, characterization, stability and release testing, microbiology, and pharmaceutical material testing.
• Experience with external laboratories, contract testing organizations, development service providers, or regulated GLP, GCP, or GMP environments.
• Experience in supplier innovation, digital enablement, automation, global category management, business continuity, or category transformation.
